The Generac generator manufacturing company was founded in 1959 by Robert Kern with one intention only. That was to provide electric power to every facility that needs it be it residential, commercial, portable or generators for recreational vehicles.
What has made Generac a success is their dedication to a particular niche - electric power generators.
Because of their concentration on this particular niche they have been able to develop engines that drive the generators as well as develop the electric generators themselves.
Both units must perform perfectly in order to deliver dependable power when the power goes out.
The company has six categories of generators to choose from. Each serving a specific purpose. After all they are the generator company and know that one generator cannot possibly suit every purpose. If it were possible then they would have already made it.
They offer the Guardian, Quiet Source, Commercial series generators, Custom Industrial Solutions, Recreational Vehicle generators and portable generators.
While the guardian series are ideal for small homes and small businesses and are easy to install the Quiet source series are meant for larger homes and medium businesses these two series considerably reduce sound and increase longevity of the generator.
The Commercial and Custom Industrial series are custom made generators for large buildings and business establishments. The power configuration and fuel types are custom made for unique requirements.
The residential range of Generac generators are a perfect standby power source.
They go on when the power goes off - automatically. A Generac generator for the home is ideal to power the appliances that need the perfect stabilized power to operate.
Many generators supply square wave current forms.
These square waves tend to overheat and damage electrical windings in motors that turn electric fans and motors. What it more, the square wave completely destroys complex electronic circuits in computers and state-of-the-art plasma televisions among other devices.
Generac generators for residences ensures that the generator produces the perfect sine wave electric current at 50 or 60 hertz as the case may be.
This is the frequency and the wave form that all household appliances are designed to operate on.
It does this by passing the square wave through an inverting circuit controlled by microprocessors to ensure perfect sine wave form and absolutely no spikes in the voltage. This is better power than any power grid can supply anywhere in the world.
The same may be said for all their generators. However, some models are designed to operate large machinery where this ability is not incorporated in the Generac generator. It is very important to ask for a generator that can run computers if that is what the requirement is.
Portable IX series generators all have this inverter technology built in.
Generac Generator technology has been recognized the world over for its ability to generate portable power.
